  1. so how does one make a difference? For me, my community service is through a service organization. I use that organization to catapult myself into volunteerism, and community service, leadership positions, and developmental opportunities. Through the leadership positions in the community, I have met so many wonderful people in the Civic community as well as the business world.
volunteerism is important. There are volunteers that will come and sign up for a shift and do their hour or two duty and then leave. Then, there are super volunteers. These are the volunteers that will stay all day long for a festival or an event or conference and work any job at any time to make sure that things run smoothly. Next, are the leaders. The leaders are the ones that work all year long to organize and put on a two day conference or festival. The leaders use their Rolodex to pull in connections for ideas, favors, and more resources to put on an event.

my sense of community is greatly expanded through my volunteerism over the years. Volunteerism, and raising money for charity are very important, and it’s easy to find people in need that are our friends and neighbors within our community, our county, our city, and our state.
